Halloween Weekend

So, we started the weekend with Career Day at school on Friday. I didn't want to send them in their costumes, so I came up with them being farmers...they were too cute.

Mornings are tough for Lilly!! Especially when you have to put make up on!

Reed was excited to bring his horse to school.

They had parties at school. This is Reed with his class.

Lilly with her class...well, who was left that day!

Then on Saturday morning we had Reed's last soccer game. He played well and Ethan came to hang out too.

At the end, all the kids got medals...Can you tell he was excited??

The rest of the weekend was prepping for Halloween festivities at the house...finishing Lilly's costume, cleaning, cooking, etc.

The start of Halloween...Lilly is already going for the goodies!

So, last minute kinda, we threw together a little get together at my house. My Army friends came with their kids. We ate, trick or treated and watched some of the game. We all had a great time too!

And here they are!! Renee and I custom made the girls outfits...she sewed the skirts, I created the poodles, we both did the sequin leashes, made the bows to match the poodle's bow, ironed on their initials on their shirts. I have to say, they came out precious. Reed was a greaser guy and loved having his hair spiked up. He had a leather jacket, tattoos, candy cigarettes, and a black comb for his back pocket!!

The kids playing outside before Trick or Treating.

TJ and Erin (cousin and girlfriend) came in too! Reed loves to play with TJ!

Mom was there too...she cooked a wonderful gumbo for everyone and gave out all the candy (and then raided my pantry when she ran out and gave away fruit snacks...I told her to go easy on the handing out but she didn't listen and ran through 4 bags of candy in less than an hour!)

The girls riding in the wagon.

Cool guy!

Aww...she loves her mommy!

Bye Bye everyone!!

Another great weekend and I am pooped!! Hope everyone had a great Halloween!

Meet Jawzee

Whew...what a busy weekend! We had soccer, birthday parties on Saturday and Sunday, Festival Acadiens, dinner with friends, playing outside, and it goes on and on. We had a good weekend together though and the biggest thing was Jawzee....

So, we went to Cohen's birthday party on Sunday. There was a game of find Elmo's nose...Reed played twice and he did not find any of the noses (there were three) either time. However, he did take one of the noses from a little girl who found two...yea...he's a bully, I will work on that. Anyway, Nikki, Cohen's mommy, still gave Reed his prize....a real life gold fish! WHAT?!?!? My party favors must stink! HA!

So, we bring this gold fish home and I really have no intentions of keeping this fish long term assuming it won't last with me. But, Reed had a different idea. He was so so excited! We Skyped with daddy to tell him all about it. When Steven asked Reed what the fish's name was, he said Reed. Steven told him he couldn't name him Reed. So, Reed tells him his name is Jawzee...really? Jawzee? Ok, well, Jawzee it is...where do these kids come up with this??

All night last night Reed wanted to feed Jawzee his dinner...too bad I didn't have any food for the poor fish. But I did move him to a cup while I put in new fresh water. Reed stood on a chair watching and then continued to thank me all night for giving Jawzee a bath. Well, I didn't know if Jawzee would still be alive today, so I came home before I picked them up. He was still swimming so after school, we headed to the store and Jawzee got a bigger bowl, some bright gravel, and fish food. Reed ate dinner next to Jawzee and then proudly fed him his. Geez, I hope we can keep this fish alive!!

Can't forget about baby girl...she likes Jawzee too.

I wouldn't trade this life for anything....these two are my heart and soul!

Project

Reed asks for his Daddy often....much more since he came home during the summer. He tells me he misses him and wants him to come home. Sometimes it is just a quick conversation, sometimes it comes with tears, and sometimes I think he uses it as manipulation when he is in trouble. But, since he is much more aware at this point but still not old enough to understand time, I decided we would do a project. So one Friday after work, I came home and we did a project together.

Reed was so excited to do a 'project to make daddy come home' as he called it. I put Lilly in her high chair and Reed and I sat at the kitchen table and we all colored plain paper. After we colored lots of paper, I cut it into strips. I then chained the strips together. I counted enough to get us through a date I think he might come home on and added about a week just in case! I figured a visual timeline might help him. I explained that we would take off one everyday until daddy comes home. He loves it and decided he wanted it hung on the wall in the hallway...strange place, but whatever makes him happy! I finally hung it and took a pic. It was longer but I am happy to see it going down....one day closer to our family being back to normal!

Ok, so now to the other cuteness...Lilly got some new pajamas from Mimi and paw paw from San Fransisco....so so cute!

Then we had another soccer game.

Then we went to the Pumpkin Patch

They do share from time to time

Lilly loved running to the pumpkins...she would go sit, jump up and move to the next set.

Reed played in the fun jump

Chloe came and met us too. They are best friends!

Then we went home and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Lilly loves her swing!
