Aquarium and N.O. Children's Museum

So this past weekend we headed down to New Orleans to have a nice family weekend. Steven turned 33 on Sunday so we planned on spending the day with the kiddies on Saturday and then have an adult night while my parent's watched Reed and Lilly. Well, we decided to leave Lilly home with Mimi and Pawpaw for the day and Steven and I took Reed downtown.

Since Lilly wasn't coming, I snapped a pic before we left. She was excited to stay home with PawPaw.

So, we make it downtown and grumpy is not wanting mommy to take pics already~~he got over it quick though.

We make it in and it was non stop running the second we walked in the Aquarium.

Daddy makes goofy fish faces...

And of course, Reed finds the slide!

After the aquarium, we walked through the Riverwalk and ate lunch there. We were hoping Reed would fall asleep for a little while but he didn't. So we decided to walk down to the Children's Museum. One of the first things when you walk is a screen that you make movements in....well, Daddy and Reed got to dancin'!

And, then he found the train table....and it took everything to get him away....

We finally managed to but he ran....

and ran.....

and ran....

until he found ANOTHER train table....

So, we gave up and spent hours playing with Thomas the Train.

Little did Reed know at the time, Steven picked up a train table, tons of tracks, houses, trains, the works from one of the partner's at my firm. His kids grew out of it and he offered it to us. So, of course we jumped at the chance. We knew after the day at the museum how excited he was going to be when we got home and set everything up.

So, we leave downtown and get back to my dad's house. Steven and I went to dinner and a movie while my parent's watched Reed and Lilly. Sunday morning we went to breakfast and hit the road early so Steven could study for his quiz. When we got home, we pulled out the train set and set it up. Needless to say, it is all Reed plays with and has replaced my coffee table for now...but not for long!!! I'll get some pics of him playing and post soon...he is too cute and even has a conductor hat!

Until next time....

Ahh....one more....

Just cause it was so cute...Lilly got to play with Ainsley this weekend. Ainsley is about a month younger than Lilly although Lilly seems to be way bigger!!! They were cute together smiling and gooing at each other.

Fun nights at home...

So, not too much going on lately...just some fun family nights at home. Last week Steven and Reed played with the new Tonka trucks while Lilly and I watched and snapped some pics.

Hard at work...

Lilly watched and laughed...mostly at me but hey we had fun!

Then it was play time on the swing set...

Lilly starting to poop out on us...

Then we put the Tonka's to bed

Then we let him run through the sprinkler....the grass needed it!

And there she went...

So, what's a good fun night without CAKE?!?! He would live on cake if we let him.

And a totally different night but I couldn't resist the adorable brotherly love! He is going to be so protective of her! LOVE IT!

That's it for now....we are going to do some fun family stuff this weekend so I'll have more to post soon. Enjoy!

Reed's 2nd Birthday Party

We had Reed's 2nd Birthday party on Saturday afternoon here at the house. We had a packed house again this year and were so thankful for all of our family and friends to take the time to come spend the day with us! Many people drove far distances (and many with young children) to come and it meant alot so Thank You! Reed had a great day and watching all the kiddies together was so much fun.

The cake table with the party favors...So, again, in something I would have NEVER thought I would be doing....I customized some of the favors. I found some cute bubbles and made personalized labels for Reed's 2nd B-Day. The rest of the favors were just coloring books, crayons, silly string...typical kid stuff.

A few of the many little ones playing...wish I would have snapped more pics!

This is PawPaw Ronnie holding Reed as everyone sang him Happy Birthday.

He was sooooo excited!

And blowing out the candles...

Then it was present time...wow did he rack up! Good thing we have a BIG toy box!

After a fun day of playing, he was hot and sweaty!

Mommy and Daddy got him the set of three big Tonka trucks....don't know where the other one is for this pic. He loves them!

Daddy was pooped...

And baby sister was there in her pretty party dress but mommy didn't take as many pics as she wanted since she was busy the whole time. But, trust me, she looked beautiful! She spent the day in the arms of grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles, and friends.
